Santa Anonymous Program

As you know, Christmas can be difficult time of year. Families, individuals or seniors in our community may be feeling lonely or isolated, experiencing financial problems or new to our community.

The Santa Anonymous Program is an attempt to bring a little joy to someone's life. With cash donations received from the public, gift certificates will be purchased and mailed in a Christmas Card.

Donations to this program can be made year round at the Village Office or mailed to Connie Blackmer, Box 102 Delia, AB TOJ OWO

To nominate a personor family to receive this special gift, enter names in the drop box at the Village Office

Fitness Classes by "Everybody's Gym"

Instructors from Everybody's Gym in Drumheller will be offering classes including two classes of Zumba Fitness (Jan 3&10) Kickboxing (Jan 17&24). Core and More (Jan 31 & Feb7) and Walk and Tone (Feb 14&28) We need to have a minimum of 8 participants fro the classes to run so please contact the library if you wish to participate. I will be collection payment for classes prior to class dates so please stop by the library if you have registered.

$15 per session held in the Delia School Gym 6-7pm

Mid-Winter Mango Party

'Let's create some Mango Magic in our community". Come Party at the library and learn about our great new service, Mango, an on-line language learning program available free to our community. "Mango on-line language learning tool are great way for all kinds of people to build their practical conversation skills in the world's most popular languages." Be sure to check out our Mango Mania Contest as the Delia Library could win a Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablet, a Logitech Handset with microphone, a set of 20 Lonely Plant travel guide books and a big basket of mango swag to enhance the library's collection.

Invitation For FCSS Funding Applications

Starland Regional Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is a partnership between the province and the municipalities of Morrin, Munson, Delia and Starland County. They provide grant dollars for community based programs and services designed for applications is March 31st. The program mission is to care for and strengthen the quality for life for all citizens, through volunteering, consulting and providing services to meet the needs where they exist. Services must do one or more of the following:

  • Help people develop independence, streghten coping skills and become more resistant to crisis.
  • Help people to develop an awareness of social needs
  • help people to develop interpersonal and group skills which enhance constructive relationships among people
  • Help people and communities to assume responsibility for decisions and actions which affect them
  • Provide support that help sustain people as active participants in the community
